Need Creation Rationale

In low-income urban and refugee-hosting communities in Kenya, mothers and female caregivers are systematically blocked from economic opportunities due to a critical lack of safe, affordable, and high-quality childcare. This forces them into an impossible choice between earning a dignified livelihood and ensuring the well-being of their children. This situation suppresses female economic independence and widens the gender gap, but also compromises the crucial early education & development of children and denies a potential workforce of aspiring caregivers access to professional skills and stable employment. Le-cradle aims at bridging this gap by providing a safe, modern ECDE Centre that integrates care skills training for women and Young people in the community. Funding is needed to acquire land, build child-friendly facilities, register the organization and take care of all legal requirements, and engage trainers for caregivers. And other expenses while ensuring sustainability.

ADF–LSI is a platform for Africans in the diaspora to create lasting impact by connecting those with resources to those driving solutions on the ground
