Empowering Smallholder Farmers and Women Entrepreneurs through Sustainable Agriculture and Skills Development

This initiative supports smallholder farmers and women-led microenterprises in rural Nigeria with access to training, climate-smart farming inputs, and market opportunities. By combining sustainable agriculture practices with entrepreneurship and vocational skills, the project will reduce poverty, improve food security, and create pathways for income generation. It also empowers women and youth with the resources and knowledge needed to thrive as business owners and community change agents.

The $2,000 funding will be used to provide smallholder farmers with climate-resilient planting materials and affordable tools for vegetable and banana farming, alongside training on sustainable practices. Additionally, women and youth will benefit from vocational workshops in tailoring and craft-making to diversify their income. the funds will cover: Procurement of improved seeds and banana suckers for 50 farmers. Purchase of 10 low-cost irrigation kits to improve crop survival during irregular rainfall. Training sessions for 30 women and youth on tailoring and beadwork. Establishment of a small cooperative fund to support group savings and market access.
