Funding a support system for Mental Health and Wellness Clubs/ Associations in schools, Universities, and other institutions of higher learning.

The overall purpose of the LEM Mental Health Clubs/ Associations (LMHCs/ LMHAs) within schools, universities, and other institutions of higher learning is “to become a support mechanism for students, staff members, and management to understand and address the rising mental health cases/ challenges within these institutions”

Need Creation Rationale

LEM mindfulness team will develop Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning tools to assess the impact of the Mental Health Clubs. The LEM Mindfulness staff, with the support of school administration, will monitor the operations of the Mental Health clubs and shall each month/term/semester check on the respective institutions and ensure that the project’s outcomes are realized. The team will hold monthly and quarterly meetings with the school administrations and the leadership of the Mental Health Clubs to ensure that objectives of the project are met. LEM Mindfulness team will do follow-up visits to assess the Mental Health needs of the students to gage whether the program is achieving its goals and weather the outcomes are met. . We shall encourage that students and staff to contact us if they need help. We shall also assign a LEM Mindfulness staff member [LEM Mental Health Advocate] to each Mental Health Club for easy coordination and follow up. The budget covers support costs (set up and supervision) at $66,666.67, Production, printing & free distribution of the annual MH magazine at $200,000.00 (50,000 copies at approx. $4 per copy), purchase & stocking of the MH Libraries at these schools at a cost of $26,666.67, Purchase of a support transport Van at $65,000.00 and Overheads at only $29,334.34. Total Budget is US$387,666.68. The requested Budget is $10,000.00 to help establish at least 3 clubs.
